In September 2012 Leiston Community High School will become a full 11 to 18 secondary school with the closure of both Leiston and Saxmundham Middle Schools in the local school reoganisation. As a result of this, the school will change its name to Alde Valley School. Years 7-11 will be on the Seaward Avenue  (Leiston High) site with Years 12 and 13 (VI Form) on the Waterloo Avenue (Leiston Middle) site .
